The Reinforcement Method of Subway Tunnel Leakage

Jan. 10, 2018

When it comes to the subway tunnel processing, many people will think of Nanjing Mankate. Mankate has taken over a number of large subway tunnel reinforcement projects,  such as Nanjing Metro Line 3, Beijing Metro Flyover, Shenzhen Metro Tunnel and so on. Therefore, Mankate enjoys a good reputation in the domestic subway tunnel reinforcement project.

Although the subway project is  constructed underground, the surface conditions can be complicated. Sometimes it will pass underground rivers. And there are some cultivated lands and sewers over the subways. So it is very common for subway tunnels to drip and leak. If the subway seeps water for a long time, it may cause problems such as cement shedding and steel corrosion. This will threaten the safety of subway operation.

The subway operation is busy. So we must use very efficient way to repair and reinforce. The most commonly used way which is quite convenient and effective is sealing cracks and pasting carbon fiber cloth. The specific process is as follows:

1.Surface treatment: keep the construction surface dry; remove surface dust; keep the coated surface flat.

2.Crack treatment: firstly seal the surface with sealant; cracks about 20 cm for a section; seal with a plug and leave a small hole to inject glue; after the sealant is solidifying for about 4 hours, inject the  slot filling adhesive into the cracks with injection device; finally block the injection hole with sealant.

3.Pasting cloth process: apply evenly the adjusted glue on the reinforced surface with a brush; then paste the cloth ( perpendicular to the crack or cross-shaped); use a squeegee to remove air bubbles from the cloth and affix firmly; scrape a layer of glue again; paste the second layer of cloth and scrape; coat a layer of glue; and finally sprinkle some dry rough yellow sand on the surface.
