What's The Difference Between Undercut Anchor & Expansion Anchor?

Apr. 06, 2017

According to Technical Specification For Post-installed Fastenings In Concrete Structures and the working principle, mechanical divides into undercut anchor and expansion anchor. As we can see from the below picture that the locking key of both of them is different. Let's get further information about the difference between them.

For undercut anchor, the bottom of drilled hole and the locking key form the anchoring force. NJMKT has got two kinds of undercut anchors: self-undercutting anchor(no need of secondary drilled hole) and undercut anchor.

For expansion anchor, expansion piece and the wall of drilled hole form the anchoring force. It divides into torque-controlled expansion anchor and position-controlled expansion anchor. For this kind of anchor, NJMKT has got internally threaded anchor bolt.
