Prestressed carbon fiber board: a new material that can be applied to beam bottom reinforcement technology

The process principle in the process of prestressing carbon fiber board reinforcement is as follows.

(1) By applying pre-stress to the carbon fiber sheet, the high tensile strength of the carbon fiber material can be maximized, and the principle is similar to that of the prestressed beam structure. Since the pre-stress is applied in advance, the material has a certain initial strain. After the secondary force, the ability to coordinate the deformation of the carbon fiber material and the concrete material can be used to  improve the quality and effects of the reinforcement.

(2) By applying prestressing force, the decompression bending moment can be generated. The decompression bending moment can offset a large part of the load in the early stage, improve the ability of the structure to carry in the later stage, significantly improve the crack resistance of the structure, limit the occurrence of new cracks, and improve the components. The overall stiffness and strength reduce the deflection deformation of the components.

 (3) Carbon fiber sheet deformation comes from two aspects, on the one hand from the deformation caused by the application of prestress, on the one hand from the deformation under the external load, sharing the shear deformation of the adhesive of the two parts, which are respectively distributed in the two ends of the members and the mid-span position. They can evenly distribute the shear deformation of the adhesive to prevent the occurrence of adhesive brittle fracture.

(4) For the proposed reinforcement structure, according to the mechanical performance and installation space of the engineering structure, the reinforcement position must be reasonably arranged, and the carbon fiber board coated with special epoxy glue should be used for pre-tensioning, repairing the deformations the members and closure of the cracks. Then attach the carbon fiber sheet to the parts of the structural force plate to maximize the load carrying capacity of the structure.
